Health-rights awareness
We help vulnerable and affected populations know their health rights, where to report violations, and how to take part in decisions that shape their care.
Health Justice Africa Initiative: where health meets the law.
Health Justice Africa Initiative advances health rights, empowers communities and strengthens accountability in health systems across Africa.
Who we are
Health Justice Africa Initiative is a Ghanaian, African-led nonprofit working at the intersection of health, law and social justice.
We address the legal, social, economic and institutional barriers that prevent people from accessing acceptable, affordable and quality healthcare, and we work with communities and institutions to build fairer, more accountable systems.
Our story
What we do
At Health Justice Africa Initiative, we connect legal protection with practical health-system reform so communities can understand, exercise and defend their health rights.
We help vulnerable and affected populations know their health rights, where to report violations, and how to take part in decisions that shape their care.
Through legal education and accompaniment, we link protection under the law to real pathways for redress, documentation and reform.
We strengthen how communities engage health institutions and public authorities for fairer, more responsive and accountable care.
Mission
Through legal education, research, advocacy, community engagement and strategic partnerships, Health Justice Africa Initiative works toward a just and healthy Africa where every person can access quality healthcare and live free from discrimination and preventable barriers.
